Currently, most airlines oversell their flights by two or three seats, betting on the statistic that two to three people usually don't show up for the flight. But when everyone who did buy a ticket shows up, then they have to bump the last people to get to the gate, even if they bought their tickets months earlier. They do this to save costs, but is it worth the savings to always wonder if your tickets will work for you?
