The Australian Rugby Union (ARU) denied there was an issue with drinking and gambling among its Super 12 players in the wake of a player survey. An Australian players' association survey of 84 Super 12 players, including 27 Wallabies, found that over half of them believed between one to ten players in their state squad had a serious alcohol problem. The survey findings, published in the Sydney Morning Herald, also showed that 57 per cent felt between one and ten players in their squad had a serious gambling addiction.
