Do you ever read things or see a movie that doesn't really make an impression on you until you turn off the lights and are scared?

I've been reading a book about vampires. It's actually rather funny and the vampires are good guys. I enjoy reading it and have a hard time putting it down. However, as soon as I shut off my light at night, no matter how many hours it's been since I read, I am terrified that a vampire is going to jump out of thin air or appear in a dark corner.
