Have you ever noticed that the lots where towed cars are taken are always creepy and in the middle of nowhere?

My car was towed a couple days ago and the impound lot was nasty. It was far on the south side, nothing was around it except for old warehouses that don't seem to be in use anymore. I've noticed that most lots are like this since I have gone to others with my friends to get their cars. They are also really hard to get to if you don't have your car!
