Should video game companies offer to pay for people to break the law to promote their games?

Acclaim Entertainment wants to pay the speeding tickets of British drivers. As part of the release of its PlayStation 2 game Burnout 2: Point of Impact, Acclaim offered to pay the ticket for any driver caught by a speed camera on October 11th. The British Department of Transportation believes that Acclaim is 'encouraging people to speed and to break the law.' Shaun White, a spokesperson for Acclaim, stated that Acclaim was not really encouraging drivers to speed, but just wanted to 'ease the financial pain a bit.'
