Do you consider Neanderthals ''true'' humans?

The scientists don't agree, so one opinion is as good as another. They're either Homo neanderthalensis, or Homo sapiens neanderthalensis. The fact that we could interbreed suggests that they were a subspecies of Homo sapiens sapiens, but on the other hand, they had some traits indicating they were something else. Discuss!
