It seems like a great idea: new locks that only federal baggage inspectors can open. No more busted locks. Travelers are finally feeling more secure about the safety of their checked baggage. The only problem is, not everyone's getting with the program. The locks are pricey -- about $20 for two of them. And she says the only alternative is to leave your bags open. If your lock comes back busted, you can get a replacement. Just bring it back to the retailer along with the name of the airport where the incident happened, the TSA inspection notice they stick in your bag and, if possible, the receipt.
