Sharks have more senses than we do — in addition to being able to see, hear, smell, taste and feel, they can detect vibrations and electric fields. All of these senses are fairly keen, so a shark does not need to rely on any one sense to locate prey. When conditions prevent a shark from seeing or smelling its prey, it can rely on what it hears or detect movement in the water.
