I've heard people say that such and such couple are staying together 'for the children'. Is it really so much better for the kids? Wouldn't they be better off if the parents were happy, even if that meant a divided home? If attempts have been made and have failed to save the marriage, then isn't it better to divorce rather than to continue living with someone you really don't want to be with any longer?
