Are there times when you can't remember if something you experienced was a dream or reality?

For example, when I was in 9th grade a friend of mine told me that the Spice Girls were a modern version of the Beatles because they both sing about love and they're from England. To this day I can't recall if it was a dream or if it actually happened. She moved away before I could ask her.
