Baileys was launched in 1974. Worldwide 1,600 glasses of Baileys are consumed every minute of every day. Baileys is sold in over 130 countries. 50% of a bottle of Baileys is fresh Irish dairy cream. 50 million gallons (182 million litres) of milk is used to produce the cream for Baileys. The milk used for Baileys accounts to some 4.3% of the total milk production in Ireland or 45% of manufacturing milk. The whiskey used in Baileys is a triple-distilled Irish pot still whiskey. (Scotch whisky is normally double-distilled). Baileys contains no preservatives or additives.
