Do you think that moderators should be allowed to remain on the question leaderboard?

Couldn't they be accused of a conflict of interest when it comes to approving questions? Suppose they want to maintain their standing and reject questions from members who threaten their position on the question leaderboard for no other reason than maintaining their lead?
