Need YT help - Mood:Good
Thursday February 16 20069:03:24 AM |
Believe it or not, I need help from YT people. I know, I know...*I* normally have all the answers, give out great advice, and everyone loves me!

well, ok...maybe not.

anyhow, i need brainstorming ideas and what better place than here!

I have to do a short presentation (it will include some PowerPoints) on "Presenting highly technical products to non-technical decision makers"

Being a consultant, I spend alot of time "dumbing" down technical issues, thoughts, etc to managers, client, non-techie people BUT im a tad stuck on verbalizing what I do and how I do that.

I would love to hear from both technical and non-technical people on ideas when it comes to relaying techie ideas to non-techies!

Thanks!

Thank god YT allows you to try one password after the next over and over again.

Nice security.

Also, when i went to change the email addres on this account (since the email account is closed), I cant fricking change it because I used my new email account for my other ID.

WTF is wrong with this damn website.

Additionally, Id love to give a big shout out to Buddy who did absolutely ZERO to help me get back into this account. thanks for nothing.

and another big thanks to the mods who's only response was "IM Buddy".

gee, thanks.

So, im back and ready to harass the sh*t out of people again.

What is wrong with you people? - Mood:Good
Friday July 08 200511:47:04 AM |
ok, specifically the mods.

a journal was created that someone didnt like and so they delete it for personal reasons, then spout some loophole about a word not being allowed?

what a stupid loophole.

Why not say it was because someone was "attacked".

This place can really be "asstacular" sometimes.

Pleas remove it. your ass does not look bad, or THAT bad.

its 100 degrees out, so its not like there is going to be a cold front and have to put it on. plus you are running so you will be warm anyways.

Even if you are walking, its obvious you are just trying to hide your ass.

stop this trend. now.

thank you.

Thats right- Tax day.

Take your $400 from me and go buy a screwdriver.

Taxes irk me. Not that I have to pay them but how inefficient the govt is. too much wasted money. Where does it all go?

If the govt was run like a business, it would be a different story.

My weekend - Mood:Good
Monday April 04 200511:56:24 AM |
Friday night sucked big time. My gal was sick so we planned to get dinner, stay in and watch a movie- Sky Capt And The World of Tomorrow. We got some food from Eatzi's, got the movie, and right as we were about to eat, got a call from work.

I am on call and had to worked on a problem from 8pm till 2am.

Sat. beautiful day. Went to the Deep Ellum Arts Festival. It should have been called Deep Ellum Crafts and Counter Culture people watching Festival. Some cool things...some very strange people. I could have sworn I saw some YTers there!

Sunday- another beautiful day. Packed up cheese and wine, and had a late afternoon picnic.

Sunday night- grilled fajitas, with all the "fixins" with Negro Modelo Especial (with limes) and ate on the porch.

That night, watch The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Pretty funny movie!

Overall aside from Fri night, very good weekend!!

This is you, Mr. One hands in the Jeans man - Mood:Good
Friday April 01 200512:07:55 PM |
Please do not walk down the hall with one hand in your jeans pocket.

standing there, with BOTH hands in jeans pockets is ok. kinda James Dean-ish.

One hand in jeans pocket MIGHT be somewhat ok, IF just standing there.

One hand in khaki's or pants pocket is ok since the pocket is on the side and therefore you hand is at your side.

BUT, one hand in jeans pocket, walking...no. just looks dorky.

thank you.

not feather, dot.

Dear Mr American- Indian,

There is not need to wear the diaper on the head and a button up shirt and khakis. Either wear the robe, or remove the diaper off the head.

The combo just looks really off and confuses people...well, ok me.

Thank you, and goodnight.

This is my break from my research paper revisions. which suck. The paper is written and is being "fixed" now. I still have to get it all MLA'ed out...blah. MLA blows [UptownGuy, 25">.

on another note, did the St Patty's thing last night. My gal, coming home from work, got me two different green shirts- one really cool one from Old Navy with a "Happy Budda" print on it. It "rawks". The other was just a long sleeved green shirt from Gap since she thought I would be cold last night.

It was VERY sweet of her.

I think once my paper is done today, I will get her some flowers. The old ones have died off.

Its amazing how well flowers works for women. I suppose the vise versa for me would be if she showed up with a cool dvd for me.

The End.

Chimnea`s rock!! - Mood:Good
Monday March 14 20052:43:03 PM |
This weekend was awesome...instead of writing my research paper I blew it off.

The weather was amazing...we stayed outdoors as much as we could.

Sat morning we ran about 2.5 miles (one way) downtown and to the Farmers Market and ate a ton of free veggies and fruit. We vowed to come back.

We got back, cleaned up, and registered for the wedding. ok, THAT part wasnt so hot. damn, shopping tires me out. I can run 4 miles round trip but shopping...im whipped. blah.

We then went to Jakes Burgers, sat on the patio, ate a kick ass cheese burger, and drank some Bass Ales.

Sunday morning, we headed back to the Farmers Market and got a kick a$$ chimnea for the patio- we got a great deal. We bought a ton of fresh veggies, fruit, a plant, and a ton of herbs- cilantro, two types of thyme, basil, oregano, and some others i cant think of.

Grilled some turkey burgers sunday night, had a few Sammy Adams, and called it a weekend!!!

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly - Mood:Good
Wednesday March 09 20051:46:59 PM |
The bad? Ive got a research paper due in about a week.

The good? its been about 15 years since ive had to do a research paper and, holy sh*t, technology and the internet is great!! Who knew it can be used for other things besides email, IM, and porn surfing??

I almost feel guilty about using nothing but white papers ive found on the internet. I need to run to Barnes and Noble or something and get a book. Or gasp, the library!!

I remember the last research paper i did, it was from all magazines, books. I had to use Micrfish, reels of past newspapers.

We had Mac's to use but it was in the English dept basement and it was just for the writing of the paper. Luckily it stayed open all night.

oh, yeah, the ugly? eh, dunno. just thought it was a catchy title.

Recruiters are just a step above being less stupid than porn stars. - Mood:Indifferent
Friday March 04 200511:43:02 AM |
While im getting my masters, i decided to revamp my resume, throw it out there, and see what sticks.

It seems the only that sticks are really stupid recruiters.

My job objective is VERY clear. They obviously dont read it.

One asked me if i was interested in a position in Buffalo, ny. WTF? are you kidding me? I guess I should have asked the pay since money talks. it would have to talk ALOT.

Another one just spammed me, im sure with others, with a very generic email saying they are looking for networking guy with consulting experience, blah, blah..please reply back with resume, blah, blah, and salary requirements.

hmmm..ok..salary requirements? sure. I tacked on about 30K more than i make now.

havent heard back. imagine that.

and that is on top of the recruiters that contact me via email, i email back, and then i dont hear anything again ever, or its a week later.

I couldnt imagine being unemployed and trying to deal with these complete losers.
