Whether you're scoping out beauty in the world around you, or trying to perserve a few precious memories, there's no better way to do it than with a photograph. With the relatively new technology of digital cameras, taking pictures is easy. Mastering the subtler elements of it, however, can be an art-form. Also, arranging existing pictures in an album to capture the spirit of a time, place, or memory can be a hobby within itself. Pictures take up very little space because they can easily be stored in an album, or downloaded onto your computer. Writing is one of the oldest and most versitile forms of expression. Whatever you want to write, whether it be stories, a journal, articles, a blog, or anything else, writing is a clear way to voice your thoughts or opinions. In can be as creative, informative, or crazy as you want. You are in controll, so you can experiment with it a little. Everyone has a story to tell, so start telling yours.

Painting and/or drawing A picture is worth a thousand words. What will you say with yours? Painting and drawing have been a classic art-form for years. Sure, it takes a bit to learn, but after a few good lessons you'll find yourself with a satisfying form of creative expression. Just pick up one of those "How to draw" books for the basics, and let your imagination run wild! With drawing there is always room to grow, so the chances of it getting stale are very, very slim. If you stick to it through the first few weeks (give or take) of "basic training", then you'll find yourself with an interesting hobby for life. Oh yeah, and, as for storage, drawing takes up less space because you can just put it in a folder, but keep in mind that you'll need a place to store all those bulky canvas-paintings and all the stuff that goes with it. @>- - - - '- - -;- - - -
Making models is a good blend of creativity and step-by-step construction. They don't take up too much space; model airplanes can be hung from the ceiling, and cars can be put on top of the mantle or something. Also, if you're a history buff, you can appreciate that each one of these pieces of technology you are recreating is like a snapshot in time. Imagine having an entire WWII air-battle hanging from your ceiling! What about a line of freshly polished classic cars that you don't have to shell out a fortune for, and can't feel guilty about not ever driving? (Granted, they're 8-inches big, but work with me here) Also, making the models is something you can set aside and go back to whenever you have free time, or sit and finish all the way through. Give it a shot sometime, and you might find yourself with a new favorite hobby! =)

You know, I used to write, but it was feeling more like a chore than a hobby, so I was in search of a quiz that will give an opinion on what there was. Why the hell would I go back to a hobby that I stopped liking????
