Yes. We need tort reform so the malpractice insurance rates don't keep rising out of reach.

How about a public health insurance? Here in Scandinavia we have public health insurance (and also some few special ones, but they are VERY expensive), and it works kindda well. Not perfect, but it works.

^^ Communism not wanted in the U.S. We need to start deporting illegal aliens, not supplying them with free health care.

That's socialism, not communism. But I see what you're saying.

I could have guessed that 1adam12 wouldn't want socialized healthcare, that kiki would list a ton of links and so I bet you already knew I'd be for universal healthcare - as well as concerned about the inadequacies of the current system.

Yes, I'm very concerned about the American health care system. Like many people, I have no health care coverage. I'm the only wage earner, my job doesn't provide health benifits, we can barely pay the mortgage and the bills and most certainly can not afford independent health insurance. If I or any one in my family gets sick or injured, we're screwed.

I'd much rather get a cold here than in the UK! I've heard so many horror stories about what socialized medicine does to people

Yep, it means that you don't pay at the point of delivery. I have epilepsy and have had tens of thousands of dollars worth of routine scans in my life. Idread to thiink what I'd be charged in your 'free' market system of insurance.
