I was across the Pacific in Bowral, a country town about two hours' drive south-west of Sydney, so participating on some anarchy was out of the question.
It was a Friday morning, and I turned on the news - and when I saw what was happening, I stayed glued to the TV for the rest of the day. I was astounded.

it didn't really get going until the 29th.
early in the morning on the 30th,i was in the delivery room with the tv on. watching reginald denny get pulled from his truck and beaten senseless while also watching my second child being born...it's one of those moments you just don't forget.
