But seriously, even though I don't have anything *against* The Rock, it's this line of thinking that got us Donald Trump in the first place (the "anyone but Hillary" type of vote that basically left the door often for anyone to weasel in).
This country is 2 weird 4 me.
(I wonder if people in the late 70s thought actor Ronald Reagan was just as crazily impossible and silly?)

Reagan was at least governor of California before he ran for President- - it wasn't like his campaign was just part of a reality TV show...

Remember when Gov. Schwarzenegger was a wild idea? And then I don't really follow California politics, but it seems like he turned out to be a fairly dignified politician and not just an oiled pop culture meathead.

arnold was given a lot of flak by CA liberals, but i think he had more bipartisan appeal than today's politicians. it's hard to find politicians who are close to the center nowadays.
