This is going to sound silly, but during The Goofy Movie when ever Goofy's son told him off, and Goofy was just trying to spend time with him, it made me feel so bad for Goofy! And, I cried.

"Grave of the Fireflies" is one of the only films that has made me cry, whether animated or live action.

Yes....Balto, The Little Mermaid, Charlotte's Web, The Brave Little Toaster, All Dogs Go to Heaven, American Tale, Land Before Time, I could go on and on...cartoons are the only movies that DO make me cry, with a few exceptions..

"Grave of the Fireflies" is really not for children....scenes of charred bodies and people dying horrendously while their city is being firebombed does not make for good children's viewing. The film is so overwhelming because it is animated. Live action could not convey the same feeling as this film nor capture the horror of war through a child's eye. If any of you rent this film on DVD, I recommend that you watch Roger Ebert's commentary on it first. Very powerful.
