What do you mean by "similar"? You're either a commie, or you're not.

That was Mccarthy's view. A lot of people answered his question with "no" believing that they were not and had never been members of the communist party and wound up serving time for perjury when the committee was able to demonstrate that they held some views in common with the party.

redistribution of wealth is the one thing that they espouse in particular. these relatives (cousins of my dad) have always been rebellious, at least that's what the other relatives have said.

do you consider 60%+ tax rates reasonable? said relatives seem to be okay with it, even if it means less control over your own personal income.

Yep. At the present time, we are redistributing wealth from the middle to the wealthy. Experience shows that this is bad for the middle and for the poor. The wealthy seem to be OK with it, so we'll probably go on doing it this way for a while.

That would explain letting the Commies win in Vietnam, his opening up of China, and his coziness with Brezhnev...

I agree with some ideas from Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto, but I'm not an official member of the Communist party or anything like that.

There are several levels of communism in France who are politically represented, but unlike socialists, they never took power.
