No, I had a small one going on with a kid in Spain once. Eventually we just grew apart, not being able to see each-other in real life.

First long-distance relationship didn't work out, but that was more because the guy was a gigantic douchebag. Currently I'm in a successful temoporary long-distance relationship with a great guy. We've been together somewhere around 6 years. I think it helps that we had practice while he was in Iraq, and that we've lived together when we were in the same place. Right now, he's only about 3 1/2 hours away. It sucks, but at least he isn't in Iraq!!

Yes. Long distance for years. Now we are married and obviously, it is no longer long distance. In the case of our relationship, I think it helped.

No.
I had a long distance relationship, but we worked better apart than we did together.

Until I f*cked it all up by being a stupid, selfish f*ck.
God damn I want her back.

What does it mean for a relationship to work out? I'm too young for any relationship I've had to have worked out.

I'm in one right now, and it's hard, but managable, since it's ending in September, (not the relationship, the long distance)

My wife and I were apart for most of a Summer less than a year after we started dating. It worked out. It was a big deal then, when we were 20.

This time 'round so far so good. I think it'll work. Also the long distance part will end. It'd better.

lol
Good point. Ultimately no one really has more than one relationship that works out unless a partner dies w/ enough time for a 2nd relationship.

My boyfriend and I met in college. We spent 2 summers between school years 3-4 hrs apart (visiting each other once a month or so), I spent 9 weeks across the country from him, and after graduation we spent 6 months living 4 hours apart.
We now live together and once he gets a job we will begin planning our wedding. It has all made us stronger.

I guess I kind of am now.. we live 40 minutes away and between money and work we havent been seeing eachother as much. We were practically living together 5 days a week before, and now I see him for a few hours, or a night or two a week and I hate it, but it is really nice each time we see each other again. Its like the first time all over : ) We will make it work. And if it doesnt then its not meant to be I guess. But I have faith.

No, but it wasn't specifically the distance that was the problem.

Aw, man! I hate it when I accidentally leave my ipod at my friend's house and I am separated from it for a while.

I've never been in a long distance relationship because I don't think they work out long-term.

Been in a long distance relationship for 3 or so years, and now we're living together and have been for a little over a year now.
