I think so. Sometimes you just need to snuggle up in bed and get lost in an engrossing book, you know? The fact that you have to concentrate and become engaged in a book on a level far higher than when you're watching a movie or TV makes it all the more fulfilling, I think.

Nah, the last book I read that wasn't for school was Harry Potter. The only books I enjoy are comic books. This is what I've learned.

Same thing. That's what I meant. Comic books and graphic novels.

Before I went to high school, I read heaps and heaps. So back then, life would be pretty sucky without books.
Now though, I hardly ever read.
I'm trying to get back into it though!

I don't know if I would say it would be empty but it would definately be different.
I enjoy reading and would be dissapointed if I could not read again.

If I never knew books, I wouldn't miss them.
My life would be different, sure, but never empty.

books for me are one of the great and pure joys of life. many of the finest moments of my life have been spent reading one. I read about two a week, mostly non-fiction - history, military, current affairs, i have done this for years - i can't help it, i have to.

I would go insane, and probably need rehab. Next thing you know, I'm begging on the corner for the yellow pages or a toaster manual.

Well, if its some hypothetical universe where books never even existed, I guess I wouldn't be missing them. I'd probably just be grunting and gesticulating.
I would sorely miss reading material in any format if it suddenly vanished. Books help me endure boredom, relax before bed, travel to exotic places in my mind, and occaisionally some passages make me kind of horny.

Nah, because I don't read too often and there's enough stuff in the world I could occupy myself with. It's not like I'd never hear another story again in my life.

Reading is my favorite hobby. I'd be less interesting if I didn't read. My life would definitely be less full.

Yes, I would. I don't need the physical volumes, though; having them on a hard disk or memory card is good enough for me.
