I think it'll be less of an environmental disaster- if they haven't capped that well by the time it gets to 250,000 bbls then it really will be a clusterf*ck of epic proportion. But it will be more of a socioeconomic disaster- it's going to have a serious effect on the tourism and fishing industries on the gulf coast, which is going to be compounded by the economic slowdown. It's going to be tough.
Really, I have no idea why BP have so many explosions. They are *obsessed* with safety.

What does Obama have to do w/ it, bluedaisy? Would it be helpful if he donned a biohazard suit and stood in front of a banner that said, "Mission Accomplished"?

Really? Based on what? His extensive knowledge of cleaning up oil spills? Should he have warned BP that he was going to count to 10, and they better fix it or else?
