I don't think I've ever stereotyped businesspeople in that sense, unless you were talking about a corporate businessperson, in which case I think they are more commonly stereotyped as a republic. However, I don't think I've ever really thought along those lines.

Democrat.
Most business owners are SMALL business owners. Most small business owners understand that regressive taxation supported by republicans make it MORE difficult to compete with large corporations. Unless they're in realestate, I'd assume democrat.

It depends on what type of business they run.
But really, I wouldn't make a distinction just based on the fact that they run a business.

I wouldn't know for the US but over here I'd say conservative. They're generally more employer friendly and promote 'less government'.

Self-employed people need not be stereotyped. When the government has it's boot to your throat, it's of no consequence whether it's a right or left boot.

Yeah that.
I try not to stereotype but if they sold hunting accessories and NRA bumper stickers, I'd stereotype them as more conservative. If they made homemade organic soy milk and hemp clothing, I'd stereotype them as being more liberal...

What like me?
Actually for many years I voted Conservative until the right became so extreme that the left was now further to the right than where the right was when I first started voting.
I still don't vote for the left though.

Local to me, That would be Democrat. Ordinary folk are further left than that around here, and Republicans can be counted on the fingers of one hand.

I'd assume they'd be more libertarian than the average person.
Of course, I'm pretty libertarian, especially for the child of hippie socialists... but I don't own a business.

probably republicans, but some are democrat.
the manager of the gun store i bought my handgun from was probably a constitution party supporter though. he said something about how an assault rifle was necessary to keep away drug addicts, the unstable and the government.

For a mom & pop store, republican. For a tech start-up, democrat.
