Sarah Palin will be hosting a reality show about "the wonder and majesty of Alaska" on the Discovery Channel. Earlier this week the chairman of Discovery confirmed that the show still has the network's support.

To me, someone who loves her state doesn't cheer on the destruction of a unique wildlife reserve with "Drill, Baby. Drill." She wouldn't challenge the federal government in order to keep polar bears and beluga whales off the endangered species list because protections would interfere with prospecting for oil and gas in her beloved region. And what does "kind of presenting the state" mean? That she'll show it off limb by limb, the way she wanted to offer a $150 bounty for every severed foreleg of a wolf killed in her aerial slaughter campaign?

Should Sarah Palin's nature show be aired, considering her known love of hunting?

If they can make money off it, it should be aired.

If we're going to ban hypocrites from being on TV, we're not going to have anything to watch.

I don't see how her love of hunting should determine whether she has a nature show or not. Most hunters love nature, so it seems they would be prime candidates to host a nature show.

Some of the biggest conservationists were also hunters.

It's just a fact of life.

not saying sarah palin is a conservationist in any sense of the word, of course.

Is the reason that people care so much about her hunting experiences because she's a woman? I'm sure a lot of politicians have.

Don't make me laugh.

A retard hosting a nature show?

Huh. I'll have to make a point of watching this.

Hunters (not Palin) generally side with the WWF.

they tend to believe that if it dwindles, they can't hunt it.

So they agree to conserve.

Actually, most of the hunters I've known have been lovers of nature, and in the forefront of the ranks of those wanting to protect wilderness areas. Palin's having been a hunter is a recommendation in this case. Not so, of course, her advocacy of industrial exploitation of wild lands.

Self-censorship should always be the first line of defence against television one wishes to avoid.

If they want to show her pole-dancing though...

Only if they have little blurbs that show up under each wildlife showcase demonstrating the best way to shoot it from an airplane.

she would make more propaganda than hunting

Sure.
It should be up to the consumer to avoid her show so that her ratings are low and it is cancelled...

Its ridiculous to think that people who hunt do not care about the environment. Usually hunters are some of the most nature loving people. What about Native Americans? They hunted everyday, and were also extremely grateful and prayed to the animal spirits.
