A payday loan (also called a paycheck advance or payday advance) is a small, short-term loan that is intended to cover a borrower's expenses until his or her next payday. The loans are also sometimes referred to as cash advances, though that term can also refer to cash provided against a prearranged line of credit such as a credit card. Legislation regarding payday loans varies widely between different countries and, within the USA, between different states.

Yes you are, and why does getting a payday loan make you retarded?
I had to get one when I first came to Japan, because my first paycheck didn't come until 2 months after I arrived, and finding an apartment worked out more expensive than expected.
No, but my mom used to get them a lot a while back, and they completely screwed over our family's finances. She couldn't afford to pay one back, so she'd go to another place and borrow money to pay the previous one.
Bottom line: I think there are some circumstances in which getting a payday lone is completely justifiable, but borrowing a payday loan to buy a leather jacket or something is silly.

She's not retarded, you're inane
and I have never had a payday loan.
I have had offers for paycheck debit cards that I sense are shady.
