Doesn't seem to bother anyone except my mom, and certainly doesn't stop guys from hitting on me.

I think I would notice that more with guys, as they are less likely to wear a random ring- usually if a guy is wearing a ring its either a class ring, something to do with sports, a wedding ring or those chastity/purity/whatever rings.
