I feel sorry for her, because the only reason people are making a big deal out of her is because she looks unusual. As if being ugly and having talent is mutually exclusive. Of course, I forgot that in our society, only attractive people can sing.

I was going to say this, but I wasn't sure how to say it without being long-winded, but yeah, I agree with this entirely.
I've yet to read a single article without the author being obliged to mention her less-than-average looks, and it's a pile of sh*t, really...this is the downfall of civilization. For such a "progressive" society everyone makes it out to be, looks still mean so much to us. People are still so superficial.

I disagree. What was most remarkable to me was her age, and how unnoticed her talent went all of those years. I thought it was amazing for her to pull such a feat without even knowing how amazing she was / is. Can you imagine being awesome at something and never REALLY knowing? She was surprised she made it through!
That's why I get a kick out of her.

I just heard about her for the first time this morning on Good Morning America tbh. Like Sammy said, my eyes couldn't stop focusing on her brows. Even though it's not my type of music, she has a great voice.

That's probably true. If she came out looking hot with that voice, they'd just be like 'of course, she's so beautiful and talented'. But that voice ... wow. |

i love susan boyle becasue of her talent and humility, and i always love an under dog story. when she got up on that stage no one had any faith in her and everyone was laughing at her. i love that she showed everyone that talent is not only for people who are beautiful on the outside but more so beauty comes from within.
