A fan who says he was ejected from Yankee Stadium by police after he left his seat to use the bathroom during the playing of "God Bless America" is suing the New York Yankees and the city. Bradford Campeau-Laurion says in his federal lawsuit his rights were violated.

The lawsuit said the officer did not let him take a step before grabbing his right arm and twisting it behind him. It said two officers marched him down several ramps to the stadium's exit, where he was pushed out as one officer told him to leave the country if he didn't like it.

Police spokesman Paul J. Browne said the officers, who were being paid by the Yankees to work at the stadium, ejected Campeau-Laurion after they "observed a male cursing, using inappropriate language and acting in a disorderly manner while reeking of alcohol." They "decided to eject him rather than subject others to his offensive behavior."

Should this man win his lawsuit against the New York Yankees, after they ejected him from the ballpark for being drunk and going to the restroom during the singing of 'God Bless America'?

Yes.

When you gotta go, you gotta go.
No song should prevent that.

He shouldn't have been ejected, but that lawsuit is ridiculous, so no.

Are you sure they did? Or was that just the drunk guy making it up so he could sue?

The police shouldn't of thrown him out just because he got up during the song. But the guy shouldn't of sued them either.

I don't know about that. Yankees tickets (if their anything like Redsox tickets) are hard to get and can be rather expensive and they deprived him of those tickets that were rightfully his (assuming his side of the story is true).

LMAO, yeah. Yankees need to be taught a lesson.

Absolutely. God Bless America has no more standing than any other popular song.

They ejected him for being drunk and obscene, not for taking a piss during "God Bless America"

Just out of curiosity, why were they playing "God Bless America" anyway? Is that normal at baseball games?
12 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 9/29/09 - 12:21:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
When you gotta go, you gotta go! The greedies wont ban selling alcohol in the stadium, butthey will punish people for being under the influence of it? The hermit lifestyle becomes more atttractive every day. ..our society is dubious anymore.

i don't think so...but then again at Fenway we sing "Sweet Caroline"

Why 'Sweet Caroline'? Love the song but why do they sing it at Fenway?

Well, from what is showing in the story, it sounds like he was being kind of obnoxious. But if security guards were escorting him out just because he had to use the bathroom, then I think the lawsuit is justified. When did it become a crime to walk out during a song. It may have been just a little in poor taste during God Bless America, but no law dictates you have to stay.

Eh...he should go ahead and sue the Yankees anyway for existing. I hate them.
