Yes, but it's not always easy - but it's almost all doable.

Does anybody, truly?
I think I have good control over my actions and reactions, but I don't think anybody can really control natural fear instinct. It can be diluted with therapy and that sort of thing, but it's always there.

If some guy with a knife suddenly pops out at you, you're going to be scared.
There's no way to control that.

Fairly good control, yes.
I think after many years of having people and events scare you, you learn how to adapt to those fears and manage them so they don't affect you. At least, not to the same extent.

I was a complete wussy as a kid, avoiding going outside at night, sleeping with the light on... that sort of thing.
But recently I've really got the fear factor under control. I can stroll into a forecst at midnight and stay relatively calm. I'm even starting to get over my phobia of wasps, and these days I just find them f*cking annoying rather than scary.
But nobody truly gets all their fears under control, I don't think.

^^^ Wow, pal.
I bet you got beat up a lot.
Ummm....I think we have control over our fears to a certain POINT. I mean....if we're aware we're being stalked into a dark alley at 3:00 AM, WE'RE GOING to be scared. But, I din't think the way to control them would be to actually FACE them. Like turning around and giving your stalker a hug.
Ya get what I'm laying down?
SOME common sense still needs to remain.

I think you can have control over how you handle yourself and your fear, but I don't think you can be rid of it completely.
