The anonymous comment on the Web site RateMDs.com was unsparing: "Very unhelpful, arrogant," it said of a doctor. "Did not listen and cut me off, seemed much too happy to have power (and abuse it!) over suffering people." Such reviews are becoming more common as consumer ratings services like Zagat's and Angie's List expand beyond restaurants and plumbers to medical care, and some doctors are fighting back. They're asking patients to agree to what amounts to a gag order that bars them from posting negative comments online...

yeah. i thought people already did that.

anyways, before you go into some medical procedure, it would be a good idea to look at the doctor's profile to see if he or she has had good ratings, reviews and how much experience the doctor has had.

i think it's a great idea.

^^And to add on to that, it would be a good resource for the doctors themselves, to see what they should improve on and whatnot

For those docs who don't like it:
Maybe you're in the wrong business. Or maybe you just need to learn how to use the criticism to improve yourself.

I don't see any reason not to do this.

Seems like a good idea when you're the patient. If I were a doctor, I wouldn't like it. i could be an excellent doctor and be ruined by thoughtless comments from liars or idiots.
