I'd consider. I wouldn't buy one on the merit of it simply being Atari, but if it proved to be a good console, then I'd definitely consider it.

Atari never died, they just stopped making consoles. They just publish games now, they're not talking about making consoles.

Yeah, they've published quite a few popular games in recent years, including the Neverwinter Nights, Alone In the Dark and a couple of the Unreal Tournament games, not to mention some standalone games like Fahrenheit and The Witcher which have sold well. It isn't like they've been anywhere.
And like MightyRhinox said, they aren't going to go back to making consoles. They're probably well aware that there isn't any more room in the market for one.

I love Atari, I have a game console but it ended up breaking... I still have a whole bunch of games like Frogger, Astroids, Pac-Man and a few others.

my parents have an atari 2600 lying around. i think my dad would jump at the idea since he spent a while playing it.
