They should have been cooked with moisture - stewed, simmered, etc.

It's as valid a part of the animal to eat as the muscles are. Indeed, the heart and toungue ARE muscles.

I hate liver, and I haven't tried any other part. Unless they sneak those into hot-dogs and spam. Which they probably do. So, I guess I have eaten organs in my time.

Intestinse are good fried, although a bit chewy.

I haven't tried brains or kidneys - kidneys probably have a more 'meaty' texture, I would guess. I would think brains would have a texture more like tofu - but that's just a guess. They'd probably taste fine if prepared properly.

Prairie oysters (bull testicles) were once considered an aphrodisiac, and a delicacy.

Of course, as a vegetarian, I wouldn't eat any of those things now. But I ate them when I was an omnivour.

I really can't understand these people who insist that they must eat meat, that humans evolved to eat meat, that it's healthy to eat meat, and then they get all squemish about what kind of meat.

In the wild, the entrails (internal organs - what we're talking about here) are what carnivours eat first.

I remember reading that, in old times, the heart and such were considered the best part of an animal.

That's some of the best stuff. I love offal.
