Not as much as when they bump their old questions with links to articles that only have a superficial connection to the original thread.

It makes them seem desperate for feedback from their questions

I don't when they aren't simply answering their question but are providing relevant information.

No. Maybe they want to clarify, add additional information, or just make their own view/opinion known. It doesn't bother me.

I'm not that easily annoyed, really.
I would just wonder why they hadn't added that as a small anecdote/extra information in the story box. It would have made much more sense. This is what the box is about.
But whatever.

Only if they're not doing this.
If they're just answering their own question it most certainly does.
Why? It causes bias.

I usually don't notice.
I did it myself a few times when I forgot to include the link in the question. When I noticed, I added the link as the first 'response'.

It used to annoy me back when the question forum was different. Now that there is a 'latest questions' tab, it doesn't matter to me.

Like said above, only when they actually give their opinion. I don't care if they do add more info on the question's story, since it may be needed to make an informed decision.

There's a section for doing that that you can attach to the question. There's no reason to reply to the question with this information.

I think it is pretentious for the creator to post first on their question.
The only reason I can see for it to be alright for a creator to have the first post, is if they were explaining their opinion on the question. But that is only if the question was non-biased to begin with. Which... is kind of a fail.
