What? Um.....well I guess in both you don't have a choice over what you are/how you look. And I suppose the marriage situation currently reflects the earlier inter-racial marriages debates.
As for African American parents, I like to think in this world people are matured and educated enough to be colorblind. So I really don't care either way.

PuddingCup, you need to better define your question.
What aspect of "Gay"?
Gay use to mean "Cheerful"
Then gay meant "Homosexual"
Then gay meant "Male Homosexual"
Then gay meant "Stupid, Bad"
So what aspect of the term "Gay" are you refering to?
And what do you mean by the term "the new African American"?
Do you mean "Are homosexual people finally going to get equal rights and proper respect" (theoretically)?
Or do you mean something else?

Gays are the new Jews.
See Gay people aren't disadvantaged by education or economics as a demograph but they are marginalized and stigmatized institutionally.
My comment was a throw away line but if you thik about it Hitler had camps for queers too.

Well considering that 69% of African-Americans of the vote said "yes" to ban California proposition 8, I would say "no" to your question.

Yeah I see the similarities, pud. Obviously not in a historical or judicial sense. But maybe in the sense that they're a disenfranchised minority that the fashionable people of our era have decided to embrace.

It's a common trend that discriminated minorities tend to discriminate against other minorities once they have perceived an improvement in their own social standing.
In New York German Jews discriminated against Russian Jews.
