Of course.
Muslim doesn't automatically equal terrorism.
I thought he WAS Muslim, actually, so the smear campaign worked on me.

It would be nice to get someone other than a Christian on the throne for once.

That's actually kind of scary.

This may sound bad but probably not. If we were at war with any other group I would sayyes but if he were Muslim it would just be suspicious.

Yeah, I'd be fine with it. I'm pretty much okay with any religion or lack there of... I'm more concerned as to the theology behind the parts of the religion they bring to the table.

While I'm not a supporter of Barack per se, if his policies remained the same I can't see why his religious affiliation is any of my business.

If Huckabee became president I would have left the country. I hated Huckabee with a passion. He would have turned this country into a theocracy. "I majored in miracles" he said. That is the worst political phrase ever!

This question and both of the pictures are disgusting and only serve to perpetuate the smear campaign. It's nothing but shameless push-polling.

for once, i agree with lushuspigeon... will miracles never cease. LOL.
And since I am Muslim, I would be more inclined to vote for him.
Though I am against his pro-"choice" stance, I support Obama and will vote for him in November (unless he chooses the abominable Hillary, then I won't vote at all). We can not afford another 4 years of someone like Bush in the White House... and, unfortunately, McCain has become very much like Bush and is as "hawkish" as Bush on the so-called "war on terror" and Iraq.

ugh, i know why being muslim has a bad connotation to some, but really, it is crazy to overgeneralize a whole religion. not everyone that is a muslim is a freak terrorist.

I would think differently about him, but in a good way
Being Muslim, I'd think that he would take less risks appealing to religion, and therefore be more sectarian-oriented.

(He would take less risk because the US is mostly Christian, forgot to add that)

Only if he was the same person, but how could anyone be the exact same person regardless of whether or not they are a Christian or a Muslim? These things obviously have an effect on someone's mind. Although I can guarantee if he was Muslim, his angry mullah would have really destroyed his chances at election, those guys say worse things than "god damn".

If all the candidates focused more on how they would better the country instead of how their opposite would worsen the country it would be an easier decision on who to vote for

It makes me sad to think that people would discriminate against him because of his religion. And if he were a terroist, don't you think Congress could keep him in check?

My first husband was Muslim.
I wouldn't mind a Muslim president - depending, of course, on his political agenda. I'm pro-choice, pro-universal healthcare, pro-freedom of religon, anti-war.
A pro-life, anti-universal healthcare, theocracy loving war monger wouldn't get my vote, regardless of his/her religion.

I'm an atheist, so in my eyes, Islam is no more idiotic than Christianity.
