Hahaha reminds me of one time I was headed outside, and was asked where I thought I was going.
I said, out for a smoke break.
They said, but you...don't smoke.
I said, do you have a problem with me not smoking?!

It's only fair. I know smokers who take a break every couple of hours and are gone for 20-30 minutes each time.

I know I miss my smoke breaks. I don't know why I don't just take a break now, but what would I do? I'm already on the computer and that's the only other thing to do here. I guess I could bring a book up.

In answer to the question, it's totally okay for non-smokers to mingle with 10 o'clock people as long as they don't care if their clothes stink.

Sure, assuming they want to hang around smoke.

In don't see why not. What? We can't have a break just because we don't smoke? It would be unfair if we couldn't.

^what did she say?
Of course it's fine. I like 2nd hand smoke.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/17/08 - 3:00:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sure, they should get the same break time as the others after all.

Ofcourse it's ok to be around smokers. Only 6 people of my class smoke and the rest always sits with us during the break. It's not like they mind or anything.

I almost want to say 'no' because this is probably the first instance I've come across (even though its hypothetical) where the non-smokers are given the raw end of the deal in a smoking policy.

In actuality, of course non-smokers shoud get the same amount of break time as smokers. I'd actually be on the non-smoker's side on this one if they were denied breaks,

I do believe that some of the more rabidly anti-smoking crusaders really need to lower their high horse a bit and make some common sense compromises.

I also dislike the sort who will make it a point to actually come NEARER to a smoker (especially if they're polite enough to stand apart from non-smokers) just so you can hear one of their fake stage coughs.

Oh, and smoking should be allowed in bars again.

I don't see why not. If someone really wants to run out for a coffee/soda or just get some fresh air for a couple of minutes, what's the big deal?
13 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 5/30/08 - 11:19:48 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sure, if those non-smokers want to suffer from second-hand smoking.

I think everyone should get an equal amount of break time, but be able to split it up how they want. If non smokers frequent short breaks like smokers, go for it.
I'm a smoker and I have never had a job where I got to smoke whenever I wanted. I waited until normal "coffee" break times.
