Did people protest the first war with Iraq? I was like 9 when that was going on, so I don't remember.

Anyway, I'd say more people protested against Vietnam, based strictly on the things I've seen in history books/movies/tv shows.

Not as much as with this war, but some people protested I remember ... I was in junior high for that I think

The only way there'd would be a similar amount of protests is if the draft was to be (had been) instituted.

The War in Iraq is not affecting society as a whole directly so unless you are some way connected to the military (family, friends) there is no reason for you to protest, unlike Vietnam where you could be the next one to go fight.

No question, Vietnam. People were nuts back then.

They're all hippies that should have died in the front line.

The war in Iraq most certainly IS affecting society as a whole. How do you think Bush's little game of toy soldiers is being bankrolled? The federal budget is so f*cking far in the red that my grandchildren may well be paying for this fiasco.
And the part about not having a reason to protest unless someone related to you is in uniform is wrong on so many levels that I don't have enough time or space to write about it.
