have you been on Temple Square in Salt Lake City Utah, that's a Mormon place and it's very nice, you can get tours in most places.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/14/08 - 1:47:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
Been there. I said Mormon churches, not temples.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/14/08 - 1:51:12 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm LDS, so I like to the church's temple, and then for other religion it's always fun to learn about there cultures.

I said Temple Square, not the Temple, they don't let non-members in there.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/14/08 - 1:59:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
And like I said, been there. I was raised in Utah, and it's right across the street from one of the malls I used to go to a lot. Yes, it's very pretty. I said some are nice, but MORMON CHURCHES are blah.

Finally understanding?

I was just saying, because it sounded like you thought I meant the Temple. I live in SLC UT, so you use to go to the Gateway, huh?
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/14/08 - 2:55:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, Crossroads Mall. The Gateway is actually rather new. When I was growing up it was either Crossroads or University Mall, in Orem. I'm not sure if Crossroads is even still open. I haven't tried to go there in years.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/14/08 - 3:05:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
Only at midnight during the mass when we receive the holy light that supposedly is lit in the holy cave where Jesus was burried and ressurected because it's filled with people and the atmosphere is very nice. We only stay there for the last 10 minutes of the ceremony, light our candles and leave.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/14/08 - 4:52:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
Some Yes! Such As Notre Dame and St Pauls As They Are So Old And It Amazes Me How These people Built Such Structures In The Day And Age!
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/14/08 - 11:09:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think it really depends on what I'm doing there...
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/17/08 - 7:41:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
yes they can be peaceful and also works of art.
14 yrs ago - Wednesday 4/30/08 - 10:36:48 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, the whole concept of worship creeps me the f*ck out.
14 yrs ago - Wednesday 4/30/08 - 11:35:53 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes. But I do think the prettiness plays a role. I think most, even the smaller ones, Catholic churches are beautiful. I'm probably biased though.

I've been to some churches with no decorations that looked structurally like warehouses, that was weird to me.

In a spiritual sense, yes, I am comforted by Mass.
