$60 is a lot of candy. You'd be one fat bastard thats for sure. Or else extremely generous.

$60 buys about 30 lbs. of candy where I live. I wouldn't know where to start giving all that away.

under $25, usually.

my parents say that the first year we lived in the U.S., they spent over $100 on candy easily because their friends cryptically told them to "buy lots of candy" for Halloween.

Far less. We get lots of trick-or-treaters (about 300 every year), but we only spend maybe $30, and we'll still have candy left over.

Much less.
usually don't have more than 60 tied in to costumes and all, even when the kids were little.

I live in a third floor apartment in a non-child-friendly area. I wait until All Saints Day and buy myself some 50 percent off Reeses Cups.

That's about what I spend, too.

I usually don't get that many trick-or-treaters, so the vast majority ends up getting split between my brother and I.

Why would I spend that much on blackmailing kids, how come we spend 364 days of the year telling them not to take sweets from strangers then suddenly we tell them to knock on doors and demand it!
13 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 10/28/07 - 11:27:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
We plan to spend way less than $60 here.
13 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Sunday 10/28/07 - 12:08:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
We don't celebrate Halloweeen here.
13 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Monday 10/29/07 - 4:49:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
Germans don't celebrate Halloween (usually), and I'll be damned if I ever spent $60 on random strangers.

Who spends 60 dollars?! I bought two bags of candy for 5 bucks!

Ha! I work at the checkout lanes at Target and I've seen people spend hundredS on halloween candy. I live in a very family-friendly, at least 2 children per household kind of neighborhood. Lots of trick-or-treaters.

My mom bought mine this year and it cost 50$ish. There's so many kids out here and candy is pretty expensive. It ranges between 3.99 to 11.99 (box of choclate) On average the good candy that has alot per bag are about 5.99 per bag...it adds up fast.
