If they were available, and affordable, would you buy a sex robot?
HUMANS will be marrying and having sex with robots by 2050, an artificial intelligence researcher has claimed.
Netherlands university student David Levy, who recently completed his PhD on the subject of human-robot relationships, told LiveScience that robots would become so human-like in appearance, function and personality that many people would fall in love with them, have sex with them and even marry them.
`At first, sex with robots might be considered geeky, but once you have a story like `I had sex with a robot and it was great!` appear in a magazine like Cosmo, I`d expect many people to jump on the bandwagon,` he said.

I wouldn't. Metal, wire and programmed "emotion" and "personaility" will never replace the warmth of a real, living, breathing person. I would forever feel extremely empty.
I think our good friend Mr Levy has some serious psycholgical issues to deal with. Honestly, contrary to the popular belief of those with self-image issues, getting laid by a fellow human being isn't difficult, hell you can pay for it in a lot of places if you need to.....
I often joke about it, but I don't really want a sexbot. I mean, a robot used only for sex? How boring!
If it's possible to make one (and I bet it wouldn't be made in my lifetime) - I'd like a robot who I could be friends with that has artificial intelligence. I think that would be quite interesting. It's not that I couldn't get human friends, but there's just something interesting to me about being friends with a robot. And, if a robot with artificial intelligence really liked me and we had a lot in common AND he looked like a sexy male human, I wouldn't turn it down for being a boyfriend thing.
