Do you think it was a good idea to change the Wonders of the World?
The Great Wall of China, Rome`s Colosseum, India`s Taj Mahal and three architectural marvels from Latin America were among the new seven wonders of the world chosen in a global poll. Jordan`s Petra was the seventh winner. Peru`s Machu Picchu, Brazil`s Statue of Christ Redeemer and Mexico`s Chichen Itza pyramid also made the cut.
About 100 million votes were cast by the Internet and cellphone text messages, said New7Wonders, the nonprofit organization that conducted the poll. The seven beat out 14 other nominated landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower, Easter Island in the Pacific, the Statue of Liberty, the Acropolis, Russia`s Kremlin and Australia`s Sydney Opera House.
I think we should view them as two seperate things- "The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World" and "The Seven Wonders of the Modern World", rather than think of the new ones of replacing the old ones.

I think everyone has different landmarks that they are intrigued by. I don't think I'm that bothered by what some people see as the Seven wonders because mine would probably be different, so I don't really care.
I don't think we should have changed them. The original 7 wonders were known by everyone, and because most dont still exist it made them special. At least if they wanted to create new 7 wonders, they shouldnt have decided by voting, but decided themselves. The results of polls always turn out a little off.. I think its strange the Chirst Statue is a wonder, it may be large and amazing but its a religious symbol.
