Well, according to Florida laws, consenting age is 16 if you are straight and 18 if you are gay. (apparently it takes an extra two years to mature to this decision if you're gay. Strange huh?)

I agree, it depends on the type of love. "In Love" depends on the maturity of one's emotions, I think. And some young people have abnormally mature emotions.

As almost everyone said, it really depends on what kind of love. Kinship love can happen at a very young age, if the child can understand. Boyfriend/Girlfriend love, I'd say... maybe 16 onwards? Love isn't really my expertise.

Absolutely, but it can change. Right now, it's exactly 1 day older than I am now, and tomorrow, it'll be the same.

There are different types of love. Love of man for God Eros Love of country Love of family etc. Love in such a wide definition can't be limited by age.

If you're going to believe in such an abstract concept as love, then to put barriers on it seems a bit silly to me.

No. You love your mother from day one, and you can grow up with the guy next door and be best friends and then get married when you grow up.

it depends on what kind of love you're taking about. love for family and friends doesn't. but real love, you need to be mature enough for.

I agree with some of you on one point: the ability to experience romantic love, just like maturity, comes with age. However, that age is different for every person. I know some people who reach that maturity at ages as young as 12, and some that don't reach it until well into their 20s. Maturity, just like love, is just one of those things that can't really be predicted.

I don't think so. I know someone who got a boyfriend when she was about five, and I got my first boyfriend when I was eight. Thankfully I dumped him about a week later!

Actually he was the same guy who went out with my friend who was five at the time.

If it's physical love yes it does have a minimum age. If it's any other kind of love like friendly love or familial love then no.
