I kind of did, I dated a lot of guys in high school but my senior year I started dating my debate partner. We'd been friends for years but always said we weren't attracted to each other 'that way'. But we started dating my senior year, we were together about a year until I had to leave for college. Before I went to college he asked me to marry him and gave me a ring. It freaked me out big time but I didn't break up with him, I just made him call it a promise ring instead of an engagement ring.

Then I started college and met my husband, who lived next door, the first week. I broke up with my high school boyfriend and have now been with my husband for like 12 years. I felt bad dumping him, sometimes I wish I'd run into him and apologize and let him know at least I married the guy I left him for - it wasn't some fling or something. But every time I would run into him he'd start crying so I've never gotten to say I'm sorry. That bugs me, even though I was just a kid.

Yeah. You know, we just changed. grew apart, blah blah blah. But yes, I thought the stars had aligned and all that happy fuzzy stuff.

So far I've only been out with one person and it lasted for a day, so no, I didn't

No.
I always know that things will end.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Tuesday 5/1/07 - 7:33:08 PM EST (GMT-5)
no I really didnt expect any of them to last.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Wednesday 5/2/07 - 10:47:09 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, I didn't. Nothing lasts in highschool. Everything has to end eventually. I was the one who always broke up with my boyfriends. I've never been dumped.

No, I don't think any realtionship I could have now would last forever, I suppose I wouldn't want it too either. But thinking that, right from the start sort of puts me off even bothering.

I think I might marry my current lady friend and we started going out when I was like 17.

I think that's bullsh*t. Sorry but did you know that highschool sweethearts, out of any other type of couple, are more likely to get married when they get older?

I've been with my boyfriend for over a year now and we have faith that we'll be together forever.

I noticed that almost everyone said no to this question and it kind of upsets me because highschool relationships can be just as successful as adult relationships, if not, more so.

A lot of adults still don't even know the meaning of love.

I may be young and everything, but I know I'm in love with him and he's in love with me. And this is actually the first guy I've ever felt this way about.

I don't think all good things necessarily always have to come to an end.

I am a junior in college and im still with the girl I met sophomore year of high school, and i dont really see any signs of anything changing.

Having the mentality that because you're in high school you aren't supposed to stay with anything too long is rediculous. Go with the flow, if its meant to be, its meant to be if not move on but don't end a relationship soley because society says that high school is too young to find your mate for life.

I thought I was going to marry the guy I was dating from when I was 18 until about 21. before that, not really.

I was never that naive.

I'm 17 and I recently broke up with my boyfriend of TWO AND A HALF YEARS and we definitely thought we'd be together forever. So kids, as good as it is now, YOU ARE KIDS and you will probably grow UP and APART. Sad but true.

I've been with my husband since I was 14 years old. HOws that for together forever? 10th wedding anniversary in Feb '08 and in Jan '08 we will have been together 14 years.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 5/3/07 - 7:11:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
Oh, and it was NOT a shotgun wedding, we got married when I was 18 and he was 19 because we couldn't stand to be apart when he went away to college.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 5/3/07 - 7:55:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
I didn't. He did.

I think for the most part teenagers are too young to know what they want in a mate. If you haven't been exposed to anything more than your local high school, how can you make an informed decision?

14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 5/3/07 - 5:46:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
Nothing lasts forever.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 5/3/07 - 6:19:03 PM EST (GMT-5)
well i thought i would of been with my bf forever, naive perhaps.

We were mates for years, went out for a year, then he dumped me. I wished it hadnt been the case but hey, thats life.

Its nice sometimes to think that some things will never end.
My parents met when they were 15, they are both now 47.

I was convinced I was going to spend the rest of my life with my High School Sweetheart. Then I got to University, discovered a whole new selection of boys to choose from, and dumped his ass.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/4/07 - 5:47:11 PM EST (GMT-5)
I usually figure we'll go out for a few months if I'm being optimistic.

I did last a whole year with one girl though.

14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/4/07 - 5:55:11 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not really. I wasn't really serious about the people I dated. I went out with them because I liked them and we had fun together. It wasn't a huge commitment.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/4/07 - 11:37:12 PM EST (GMT-5)
Only one relationship I was in did I think would last forever. Turned out it didn't.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 5/5/07 - 2:31:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, thats kinda how I feel now, but I doubt it will happen, and if it does...holy sh*t thats freaky.
14 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 5/5/07 - 3:14:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
LOL yes, and it about killed me when it didn't.

But he is dead now. And it pisses me off to think about how much I suffered, when in the end...he committed suicide.
