I don't recall them ever saying that, maybe jokingly, but I doubt I would have taken them seriously. My active imagination made me more afraid of "boogeymen" than anything my parents may have told me.

No, I had such terrible nightmares when I was a child, that I slept in my parent's bed until 1st grade. If my parents would of done that, I probably would have gotten a complex. |

No, my friends told me. And in second grade they told me that "sex" was a swear word. I got home that day and my mom was filling out some form and one part asked what your sex was and I pointed to it and was like "That's a bad word!" It was kind of funny.

Hell yeah. I always got told about boogeymen, monsters, ghosts, and things.
And just to prove that there actually ARE monsters hiding under the bed, my dad would occasionally hide under our beds and grab our ankles as we walked by.
Even occasionally now I jump out of bed and into the middle of the room, just in case.

No, but the Kurgan and one of his friends were talking once about how absurd the stories we were told when we were young by our parents, especially abount Santa Claus. Anyways, the Kurgan and his friend decided that we wouldn't tell our children about Santa Claus, but that every December 24th at night packs of wild, blood-thirsty orangutans would roam the streets... and if you were good that year, they'd let you live another year... but if you were bad, they'd devour you. LOL.

Whenever there was a babysitter taking care of me my brother used to tell me that the bogeyman was hiding under my bed because Mom and Dad weren't there to protect me. I would start screaming my head off and one time the babysitter got so frustrated because I wasn't going to sleep and she started crying too.  |

No but my mom used to threaten to sell me to thr gypsies if I didn't behave. There aren't many gypsies in thr New York area and frankly, it's rather discrimatory but I behaved, thinking gypsies were some sort of monster.
