I doubt it, there will always be a need for it.

I highly doubt it considering that people still buy newspapers. Besides all of the newspapers have an offer: some give out movies, encyclopedias, cd's etc so people still buy newspapers.

It may become obsolete to the public, but companies will most likely always keep hard copies as backup.

I don't know, probably sometime this century though. The internet isn't THAT widespread yet, and even low income people can afford a quarter for the paper if they want to read it. But hopefully one day it will be taken over by electronic media in most cases, if anything just to save the trees and all the chemicals that go into the air when you are pressing a paper.

15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 7/16/07 - 2:04:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
Probably not. Not as many people will read them, maybe, but I don't think they'll be completely obsolete in my lifetime.
15 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 7/16/07 - 2:38:25 PM EST (GMT-5)
No! I hope not anyway!!
15 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Tuesday 8/14/07 - 8:23:03 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, I don't think so. Eventually it will become a niche market though.

And as for people saying computer monitors are too hard to read from, I'm sure there will be quite a few new display technologies released in most of our lifetimes.

I hope not. If it appears to stop then I'll re-start it. So that means no, the newspaper will NOT become obsolete in my lifetime.
