I didn't even watch it. While he was being led to the gallows, I was curled up on my couch watching CSI.

The best revenge against a condemned man is living your life as if nothing is going on as his is ending.

I don't think filming any execution on a phone and then releasing the footage can be said to be tasteful...

No it was absolutely horrible and disgusting and disgraceful. He tried to pray and they hung him before he could finish. Everyone that faces the gallows should be shown at least the respect to die after saying their prayers and not have the crowd, the executioners and everyone else shouting and tormenting them before they die. The sentence is death not torment, interupted prayers, and death!

Of course it wasn't. Despite this man's horrible past actions, he is still human and deserves a dignified death. I think it's disgusting the way he was treated after accepting his fate.

No execution can be handled tastefully or gracefully.

He should have been executed years ago.

I bought some of his old shirts on 'e' bay.

They're a bit tight round the collar, but they hang well.....

No, it was pathetic.

No execution is ever tasteful or graceful.

Tastefully and gracefully enough.

He wanted to be shot, would that be more tasteful? I'm not sure.

Thats video is horrible, I used to think they should keep the death penalty but now I've changed my mind, nobody deserves to be killed like that!

Very poorly handled.

Saddam showed more dignity than anyone else there.

15 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 1/6/07 - 10:14:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, it wasn't. I'm against the death penalty. Saddam didn't get a fair trial. Usually they wait till the war is over for a proper trial and the court is objective(milosevic's trial in the Hague).
15 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 1/6/07 - 11:51:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think this should have been anticipated. Saddam was a hated man... he should have been executed objectively, by less biased hands.

Not that it really matters now.

^^^ It does matter now.

The way he was killed has made him a martyr in many people's eyes, and has inflamed the tension between Sunni and Shiite in the Middle East.

When are there not inflamed tensions in the Middle East?

Not At All!
