Of course it won't. Everything will get worse. I choose to ignore it all.

I think 2007 will be the beginning of the end.

I don't think things in the world are getting worse, I just don't think they're progressing And I'm not sure whether they will this year or not.

Everyone's predicting bad things, yet life has historically been gradually getting better. Hmm...

Obviously, it will be a bit of both. It's not like life is filled with only positive events or only negative events--it makes sense that some things will improve in society, others won't.

For example, technology continues to improve over the years, but social relations are pretty much in the crapper.

No, of course not. These "every year gets worse" Doomsayers are just ignorant. Everything that is happening now has always happened. Iraq War? They have a name for countless needless death as a result of bloodthirsty leaders in Africa: "Tomorrow". Get your head out of your Western, 1st world asses and look around you! NOTHING is getting worse. Maybe worse for YOU, as a sheltered, safe Ameropean, but nothing is changing in the world today, the only thing changing is the awareness of it.

Nuclear weapons? Hello?! The more advanced we become, the more dangerous we become. "Get your head out of your ass."
