This year, along with MOST Thanksgivings.

When I was younger, it was because I didn't care for turkey.

In recent years, it's because my family neglects to recognize most holidays.

Two years ago my mom didn't want to cook so we ate at Ruby Tuesday's.

Mmm.

15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 12/2/06 - 2:03:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
No one in my immediate likes turkey (except for turkey breast ham) so we never eat turkey on Thanksgiving. It's always Mexican food that my mom rarely makes.

No turkey for Thanksgiving for a quarter of a century.

15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 12/2/06 - 2:07:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
We had Big Macs one year, because my sister-in-law burned the turkey beyond recognition.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 12/2/06 - 2:28:45 PM EST (GMT-5)
We did one year, because both my parents were on really strict diets, and my brother doesn't like turkey. There wasn't much point in making a turkey just for me. It just didn't feel like Thanksgiving.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 12/2/06 - 3:05:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
As in, it wasn't served at all, or I personally didn't eat any? Because most of my childhood Thanksgivings were of the latter variety--turkey was served, and the rest of my family ate it, but I didn't have any because I thought it was too dry. I've never had a Thanksgiving were it just wasn't there at all, though.
