It's the kids who choose to act like that.

Who cares. If you ask me,there are a lot of shows out there that are a lot worse for children. Two words...Jerry Springer. "Hey Mom,I'm going to Shelby's house to knock that promiscuous trollop up.Now get back to cookin, b*tch".

I say wrestling just isn't violent enough. Get them watching non stop war movies, that'll thin out their numbers.

At a certain age, children should be expected to differentiate between reality and television. WWE right now, is probably at its weakest in terms of shock value. The violence isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, and barring one or two storylines, it's become tame compared to the Attitude Era of the late 90s. If this were 1998, and we were discussing ECW, then the answer would be yes. This question will just lead to pointless anti-wrestling biased comments by people who have no idea how to raise their children or have no idea about what wrestling is.

"Teenagers who watched pro wrestling on TV were more likely to behave violently than other kids" I think watching wrestling is a result, not a cause, of being violent. That said, Television rots your brain! Kill all televisions!

No i dont let my kids watch softcore gay cinema for adult viewing. Only kidding wrestling freaks. I raised my kids to make the right choices in life and violence isnt one of them so im not worried they are going to go out and beat someone up because they saw it on tv. TV hopefully doesnt have that much influence on them. If it does i havent done my job right.

Just as long as they teach their children that it's not real and should never be imitated.

How anybody finds this sort of thing entertaining is beyond me. Recently and my sons' school, wrestling games have been banned because some darling little souls were grabbing kids from the top of the monkey bars and wrestling them off using holds such as the choke slam. Seems that even if they realize this rubbish is staged, it didn't stop them going the full-hog on other kids.

Our son went through a brief fascination with it when he was 10, funny though, he was more entertained with the soap opera drama each 'character' played out rather than the wrestling itself. He got burned out on the redundency and moved on about a year later.

Ummm. Running the risk of offending someone, i think that it is spurious correlation. Yes, kids who watch wrestling are more violent. But one does not cause the other. Those lower on the social economic scale tend to watch wrestlin, poorer people commit more violent crimes.

Kids choose to act like. My brother and I used to love watching WWE on TV when I was about 7 and he was 4 or 5. We would always choose one and root for them, my dad even took us to a few wrestling matches when he saw how much we liked to watch it. I turned out fine, not a violent person unless I'm extremely (and I mean extremely) angry. My brother however used to be very violent, but it turns out he is bipolar so now that he's on meds he's calmer, but still can be violent for reasons other wouldn't be mad about (someone turning off his TV while he's sleeping, and him waking up with the TV off and getting angry and physical about it). Also I used to think it was real, but when my dad took us to the wrestling match he explained how everything about it was unreal and pointed things out about it.
