Basically all these celebrities have joined Cindy Sheehan in a hunger strike. But each person only goes without food for 24 hours, then the strike 'rolls' to the next person. Is it really a hunger strike if they aren't all doing it together?

Do you think the current `rolling` hunger strike being done in Hollywood is a pointless idea?

Incredibly pointless. The whole point of a hunger strike is to waste away to get your point across that if whatever you are fighting against ignores you much longer then it will be bad publicity for them.

If nobody actually sacrafices much for this then nothing will be solved.

I've gone 24 hours w/o eating no problem...its not that big of a deal.

That crazy bitch is at it again.

It's been done before, but the cute little martyr act makes me vomit a little bit in my mouth.

Everyone knows that Cindy Sheehan's son died in the war.

So had other parents.

Sean Penn needs ProZac. Period. Does he ever stop complaining?

Susan Sarandon needs to get off of her soapbox. Her opinions matter no more than anyone else's.

And lastly, I think it's pretty nauseating how Sheehan expects the president to just drop everything b/c of what one idiot and what Hollyweird thinks.

It's easy to not eat food for 24 hours...they should do it for at least 72 hours!

That's all it was? 24 hours?

Pussies.

its a very pointless ideal. and only for 24 hours? there is absolutley no point, they're just making themselves look like idiots.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 7/26/06 - 8:06:10 PM EST (GMT-5)
that is so gehy.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 7/26/06 - 8:22:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's a good idea. Just not going anywhere.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 7/26/06 - 9:01:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
This just seems like people too scared to starve themselves trying to get attention.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 7/26/06 - 10:00:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
It'll just make them skinnier, and isn't that what Hollywood people want?
So vain.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 7/26/06 - 11:42:18 PM EST (GMT-5)
24 hours is NOTHING.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 7/26/06 - 11:44:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
Thanks Kiki for contributing to the amount of attention the celebs are receiving for this.

Why of course. All that the campaign is, is a campaign of selfishness.

Hunger strikes do get media attention and often help further political goals. Think Cesar Chavez.

Hunger strikes that last for more than 24 hours may deserve some attention...
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 7/27/06 - 12:22:39 AM EST (GMT-5)
This is really pathetic, and a slap in the face to people who had real convictions in their beliefs.
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 7/27/06 - 12:23:03 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think it is kind of silly, but it is not necessarily pointless.

I'll have to give you that one Mr. Dung. Maybe they would be more effective if they got some balls and made it for longer.

Whats the point in that? Anyone can go without food for 24 hours. Thats not even a hunger strike. I youre going to do something like that at least do it properly i say
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 10/5/06 - 4:47:53 AM EST (GMT-5)
That does sound pointless.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 10/5/06 - 4:49:12 AM EST (GMT-5)
Besides aren't the all people in Hollywood going on no food anyway.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 10/5/06 - 4:51:47 AM EST (GMT-5)
Haha, that's brilliant. I hunger striked for a few hours today, then someone else who had just had their lunch break took over for me while I went for mine.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 10/5/06 - 4:54:04 AM EST (GMT-5)
Fasting for just 24 hours? That sounds like a pie-eating contest for some celebrities.
15 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Friday 12/15/06 - 7:37:31 AM EST (GMT-5)
It's as effective as signing a petition.
15 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 12/16/06 - 7:55:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think it's great, I'm on a 'rolling diet' I eat healthily one day a year and leave the other days to the celebrities.
